Yerevan Brandy Company Ararat
In 1882, the Yerevan cognac factory was opened, which became the leading alcoholic beverage company in Armenia. After the Paris Exhibition in 1900, due to the high quality of the alcohol, it was allowed to write cognac instead of brandy on the bottles.
In 1913, cognac gained the greatest recognition, when the company "Shustov and Sons" began to supply its products to the Russian imperial court.
Armenian cognac has always been in high demand. During the Soviet years, cognac was exported to more than 21 countries. Currently, cognac is exported to 31 countries. The most demanded countries for Armenian cognac are Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Germany.
Many famous people loved and appreciated Armenian cognac, among them was Winston Churchill. Stalin personally supervised the delivery of cognac to the British Prime Minister.
